Operated from January 2005 by Elite Hotels, the Park Avenue is housed in a fairly non-descript white stone building. Decorated in marble and dark wood, the medium sized lobby is arranged in a satellite style, incorporating a group of smaller check-in desks. Large and in good condition, the 301 guestrooms and suites feature 'modern traditional' décor with replica furniture designed in a traditional style. The colour schemes in the rooms are light and soft, with shades of peach and green widely used. Meals are taken at the Park Aveny Café, which serves French cuisine in a modern international environment. It offers everything from classic French bistro dishes like Onion Soup, Moules Marinieres and Bouillabaisse to tender Entrecôte and fresh salads. The Bar at Park Aveny Café is, moreover, a masterwork of art, featuring 17 metres of pewter where guests can drink delicious cocktails with good friends and enjoy the continental atmosphere. The hotel’s new Lounge Bar opened in September 2005, serving snacks, tapas, Champagne, cheese and desserts. Guests can also take drinks on the terrace during the summer months.
