The hotel is located right in the centre of Gothenburg, a stone's throw from the Central Station. It is only a short distance from the Swedish Exhibition Centre, Ullevi Stadium, Liseberg amusement park and the city's "Avenyn" shopping precinct.

The Rica is a 6-storey hotel, its façade clad partly in green marble and partly in burgundy tiles. The small lobby, with its red wood panelling, offers a warm welcoming atmosphere. The spacious, renovated guestrooms are decorated in bright shades of blue and yellow, with colourful curtains, natural materials, parquet floors and modern Scandinavian style furniture. Also spacious, the bathrooms are well maintained with predominantly beige tiling. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast on the ground floor in a quiet dining room that is decorated in a blue and yellow colour scheme similar to that in the guestrooms. It has large windows and looks out onto the street.
